Meet the team

Management

Nicholas Hall (FCA), Managing Partner

I am the practice head here at Osbornes, having acquired the business with my business partner in 2011. I initially qualified as a chartered accountant in 1989 following a mini career on the family farm and a Biology degree. In my professional career, I have been a partner in Top 25 UK accounting firms specialising in general practice.

It is my responsibility at Osbornes to lead my dynamic and skilled team with an achievable forward looking vision and a clear transparent strategy for growth. My main objectives are to enable long term success for our wide range of clients and also ensure that each member of the team feels both valued and appreciated.

When I’m not at work I enjoy time with my wife and four children. I have recently embarked on sculpture classes, so look forward to seeing a range of original pieces in the office.

Sarah Mills, Business Support Manager

I joined Osbornes at the start of 2015. I come from a Financial Advisory background, working most recently within the operational side of the business. I hope the valuable experience I bring will further enhance the services Osbornes’ offers.

Tax Department

Andrew Green, Head of Tax

I have over 25 years’ experience in taxation working for both national and local practices. This has enabled me to obtain a broad knowledge to be able to advise on a number of different taxes and provide clients with a complete picture of their tax affairs.
I enjoy advising businesses of all sizes, together with assisting individuals with their personal tax concerns. I have particular interest in property and employment taxation, together with assisting clients with any difficulties they may have with HM Revenue & Customs.
Away from work, I have a keen interest in most sports, and am a season ticket holder at both Leicester City Football and Leicester Riders basketball clubs.

Laura Gaukroger, Tax Senior

I joined Osbornes after working for a specialist tax advisory company in London. Prior to that I spent many years competing, working with and training semi-professional and professional show jumping horses. Having completed my ATT qualification in Personal, Business and Inheritance Tax I hope to embark on further qualifications to bolster my knowledge and credentials in the tax arena. My main responsibilities are client tax returns and handling the day to day tax affairs.

Outside of work my passion is still very much horses, the most recent of which is currently four years old and already showing great potential. I also enjoy travelling, socialising and supporting my god-daughter in her own show jumping competitions. Occasionally I can be found helping out in the village local which happens to be owned by my brother!

Kelly Wealthall, Senior Tax Consultant

I joined Osbornes in December 2016 as a Senior Tax Consultant, predominately working alongside Nick to provide clients with a wide range of tax planning advice. I am ACA and CTA qualified with a variety of experience. I previously spent around 4 years working in the corporate insolvency and restructuring sector, 2 years as an accountant in industry and most latterly 2 years working within a corporate tax team. My varied experience enables me to offer a unique viewpoint on client affairs.

Away from the office I enjoy baking, long weekends by the sea in Devon and home renovations with my fiancé!

Accounts Department

Tracy Cropper BA (Hons), Client Manager

I have been working as an accountant since leaving University and have been with Osbornes for a number of years. My work covers all aspects of accounting from tax returns to VAT. I specialise in the smaller family run businesses, offering a holistic service covering all their accounting needs.

In my spare time I enjoy cycling (particularly long distance adventures), walking and gardening…basically anything outdoors.

Angela Jones, Client Manager

I’ve been working as an accountant since 2002 and in July 2014 I joined Osbornes as a Client Manager looking after a portfolio of clients from various business sectors. I specialise in farming and agricultural accounts and provide a more in-depth service to our clients in that sector. I am always looking for ways to get a better understanding of my farming clients’ needs, including spending time working within their business and visiting the local farmers market on a regular basis.

Most of my spare time is taken up looking after my two sons and I can often be found on football side-lines on Sunday mornings!

Elaine Roberts (FCA), Client Manager

I am a Chartered Accountant and have been qualified and working in practice for over 19 years. I also head up the audit function within Osbornes along with Nick. I look after a portfolio of clients across various sectors mostly covering entrepreneurs and owner managed businesses, although I also look after the majority of our charity clients.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading and generally spending time with my family.

Jane Champion ACMA, CGMA, Client Manager

I have worked as an accountant for over 25 years in industry and professional practice. During this time I have gained a wide range of experience and knowledge within the sphere of finance, audit and accounting. Before moving into professional practice, I worked as a management accountant for 5 years with UK PLC companies.
As a member of the team at Osbornes my role specifically includes providing accounting, financial and audit support and services to clients, ensuring that their expectations of our high standards are met at all times. I have also previously gained experience in the healthcare sector and forensic accounting and achieved accreditation as an Expert Witness.

I am a very keen volunteer for Oxfam and can be found in my local branch most Saturday afternoons.

Ben Lilley, Semi-Senior Accountant

I came to Osbornes from a medium sized practice in March 2016; I have experience in VAT, payroll, bookkeeping, company secretarial and accounts for all business entities. With two AAT Level 4 exams remaining, I hope to start studying the ACCA qualification by summer and become qualified over the next few years.

In my spare time I can often be found soaking up the sun on the golf course or enjoying a night out with friends.

Asha Chauhan BA (Hons), Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper

I joined Osbornes in April 2013 after gaining a BA Honours in Accounting and Finance. I work alongside the Client Managers to help prepare year-end accounts as well as maintaining financial duties across the business. I have experience in credit control, banking, invoicing and VAT. I plan to study to become a Chartered Certified Accountant in the next few years. Although not fully fluent, I can speak Gujarati.

Outside of work I regularly volunteer in a project serving food to the homeless people in Leicester.

Kerry Newton, Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper

I work part-time as a bookkeeper and am currently about halfway through my studies to become ACCA qualified. I use various software packages including Sage, Xero and Clear-Books. I do the bookkeeping for a range of clients, from sole traders to Limited companies.

A lot of my spare time is taken up with my two children, but I do like to go out running. I’m trying to learn Spanish and, although not fluent, I do speak German having studied it at A level and worked in Austria for a short time.

Janice Tang, Apprentice Accountant

I joined Osbornes in January 2016 as an apprentice accountant. I am currently Level 3 AAT qualified and am working towards my Diploma AAT Accounting Qualification Level 4. I hope to become a Chartered Certified Accountant within the next few years. Although not fully fluent, I can speak Cantonese and Mandarin.

During my free time, I love to read and catch up with my friends and family.

Harry Hall-Manning, Apprentice Accountant

I am currently studying AAT, working towards a level 2 qualification and joined the firm in March 2016 as an apprentice accountant. Having tried a variety of industries already despite my young age, I hope to one day be able to bring in new clients through my knowledge of other sectors and interactions with different people.

In my spare time I enjoy both playing and watching football, I also enjoy writing.
